rosary

The Rosary is made up of two prayers: mental and vocal prayer.
The  mental prayer is the meditations of the mysteries of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the Glory of His Mother.

Vocal prayer consists in saying...

On the Crucifix - The Apostles Creed

On the first bead - 1 Our Father

On the three following beads - 3 Hail Marys

End with a Glory Be.

We then announce and mediate on the first mystery while saying

1 Our Father, 10 Hail Mary's, 1 Glory Be

End the mystery with the Fatima Prayer

O My Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell and lead all souls to Heaven, especially those who are in most need of Thy mercy.

Joyful Mysteries (recited on Monday and Saturday)

The Annunciation - The Visistation - The Nativity -The Presentation - The Finding of Jesus in the Temple

Luminous Mysteries (recited on Thursday)
The Baptism of the Lord - The Wedding of Cana -The Proclamation of the Kingdom - The Transfiguration - The Institution of the Eucharist

Sorrowful Mysteries (recited on Tuesday and Friday)

The Agony in the Garden - The Scourging at the Pillar - The Crowning with Thorns - The Carrying of the Cross - The Crucifixion

Glorious Mysteries (Wednesday and Sunday)
The Resurrection - The Ascension - The Descent of the Holy Spirit - The Assumption - The Coronation

End with

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope!

To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve.

To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears!

Turn, then, O most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
