A few years back, my youngest daughter and I were walking along one of the streets downtown and happened to come by a woman who appeared to be homeless and mentally unstable. As we both looked over at her, my daughter commented about her ragged appearance and I reminded her that although we may have judgmental thoughts about certain people, that we as Christians are called to first and foremost, pray for them. I told my daughter that I had once heard someone say that any words we use to demean or judge others, including foul language, come from the same mouth in which we receive our Lord in the most Holy Eucharist. Something to think about before we speak!
